2011 – The Year of Getting Things Done
Way back in January, I realized when doing my after the holidays sort through that I had several small and some not so small unfinished craft and sewing projects, not to mention a novel in need of a big push to get it finished.
It was then that I decided that 2011 would be my year of getting things done.
Projects Completed So Far
Several Christmas gift bags and furoshiki (this will be an ongoing project to ensure a nice selection to choose from come Christmas time.)
New fleece bathrobe for me (My old one fell apart in the wash just after New Years. It was 7 years old so it was time for a new one anyway)
Green Teddy Baby Quilt (finished quilt donated to the Quilts for Japan appeal.)
One large secret Christmas Gift (After Christmas, I’ll reveal what this was, complete with photos.)
Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt Top (The fabric had been waiting for a couple of years for me to find the perfect quilt pattern. Once I found it, I spent the last half of February and a good part of March completing the quilt top)
Bedding for Doll Cradle (that Dave refinished)
Canadian Quilt of Valour Quilt Blocks (this wasn’t on the to-do list but the call went out asking for blocks and since Dave was in the Canadian Army for 25 years, I wanted to contribute)
Wonky Cross Blocks (again not on the list but a request for blocks was made and answered)
35 QAYG Blocks and a roll of quilt binding (enough to make one quilt) sent to Jan Mac of Oz Comfort Quilts in Australia to be made into a quilt for the flood and earthquake victims in Australia and New Zealand (added to list after flooding in Australia destroyed so many homes.)
Flying Zebra Baby Quilt donated to Bama Bound Quilts.
