Your quilt top came out beautiful; I am sure it took a lot of time and patience. I have quilted small projects; nothing as large as yours. It looks absolutely Wonderful!

Thanks Cindy. It is going to be fun to quilt.

We sure don't get winter like you get winter farther north. But we do get cold snaps with temperatures down into the teens. I know, I know... hardly winter at all... but after living in Hawaii and Florida, it feels mighty cold to us. :o)

Hello Deby,

You want whatever you use to fill your therapy bag, whether rice or another grain to retain the heat and because instant rice has been processed it's not likely to retain heat very well. Also, I wouldn't expect that the instant rice would hold up as well as regular rice or whole grain.

Thanks Gina,

We were kind of thinking along the same lines, that they might be bartlett.

If they don't soften as Saracrewe suggested, then we'll have eliminated that guess.

Thanks Saracrewe,

We did end up canning the pears in the top photo because they were ripe and overripe in some cases.

We'll be testing the pears in the bottom picture this weekend to see how they are progressing. We did have a taste of one and yes, it's going to be sweet.
